When the Canadian Pacific Railway was being built, we could see that there are a lot of Chinese immigrants. But when the Chinese Exclusion Act came into effect, there was a MASSIVE decrease in immigrants since only diplomats or students could enter. After the Chinese Exclusion act was repealed in 1947, we see an increase in immigration.
This is a picture showing Chinese-Canadians during the Chinese Exclusion Act. They are not with any other ethnics. They have crates with them and two of them have shoulder poles. During that time, they are likely to be stowed with the luggage at the bottom of the ship.
This shows that people do not want the Chinese. "No more Chinese shows that they dislike them and thinks of them as another group of people. As I have stated earlier, the white men thinks that Chinese people are "undesirable" and should not be mixed with the "pure breed", themselves, the white men.
